This is from Coach Mac, and it’s very good not only for coaches but also for players.

If Google Drive is not easy to use, then whenever a link on that Home Page opens in Google Drive, you can download to local files as PDF (on iPad at least) by clicking 3 dots in right top — or otw selecting Open In — then selecting Save to Files.

Full Book

…the full book, and two or three “booklets”, are also available offline in iCloud Drive/Basketball (use the Files app on my iPad or desktop). These are the booklets available on Google Drive:

Individual Booklets

Here are some the small-sided games I like, plus some variations that I just made up:

— Limited Scoring: Players must pass into the low post first, OR must pass into the low post and kick for a score.
— Defense Switch (5v5 Full Court): Start with man-to-man defense. If the offense scores, switch to a 2-3 zone defense. If the offense fails to score, switch back to man-to-man defense.
—  One Shot (Full Court): If a team misses a shot, they want to transition quickly since the defending team must pass the ball until they reach half-court.
—  Five Pointers: Play a game of 21, but three-point shots are worth 5 points. Variations can include playing to a different score (e.g., 11) or assigning a different point value to three-point shots (e.g., 4, 5, or 6 points).
—  Five Pointers with Kick: Same as above, but players must pass into the low post first and then kick the ball out for a score to earn 5 points. Otherwise, regular baskets are worth 2 points.
—  Five Pointers Only If: Players can score 5 points if they make a catch-and-shoot, step-back-and-shoot, shoot off a screen, or similar moves. Otherwise, regular baskets are worth 2 points.
—  Ladder: Whoever scores leaves the game, and the winning team is the one that gets all their players to score.
—  Lightning (Full Court): No inbound is required after a made basket. Players can grab the ball and immediately go.
—  Combos: Combine the 5-pointers with ladder, lightning, and other variations to create unique gameplay experiences.
